We are pleased to invite you to our next Research Forum: “Write to Win:  Crafting Competitive Research Grants’’, which will be a practical and interactive learning experience structured to help early career researchers write compelling research grant proposals.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Derlie Mateo-Babiano, a leading figure in urban design and active mobility. Derlie is the organizer of the ECR Transport Research Forum (now on its fifth iteration) and has heavily invested in building the capacity of new researchers in the transport field. 

The tools of trade session features seminars, hands-on writing, peer feedback, and a panel of next-gen grantees sharing proven tips:

  • Seminar and Strategy: Master the foundational elements of a fundable research proposal.
  • Hands‑On Workshop: Draft your specific aims and methodologies with real-time peer critique.
  • Grantee Panel: Learn from successful early career researchers who will share their firsthand stories, application tips, and tricks.

Designed for the global VREF Next Generation (NextGen) research community, this practical and interactive session will provide essential strategies, skills, and confidence to transform innovative research ideas into compelling and competitive grant proposals.
