Access to good mentorship is an important resource with strong relevance for many young scholars in our research community. The importance of good mentorship is also a recurring theme in VREF's dialogues with researchers within our three programs, namely Mobility and Access in African Cities (MAC), Informal and Shared Mobility in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (ISM), and Walking as a Mode of Transport (Walking). To respond to this need, VREF is now initiating a NextGen MentorHub. The overriding goal of the MentorHub is to provide a supportive space for discussing career-related challenges and issues among senior and younger scholars, as well as among young scholars on a peer-to-peer basis. We envision a platform where:

• Knowledge is bridged: Bridging the gap between established experts and emerging scholars to foster innovation in sustainable transport.
• Global networks expand: Creating meaningful connections across different geographic regions and research specializations.
• Professional growth is prioritized: Providing a supportive space to discuss career trajectories, publishing, and impactful research methodologies.
• Community-led learning thrives: Building a sustainable ecosystem where today's mentees become tomorrow's mentors.
